Changing the battery

Changing the battery on the BlueTipz transmitter is a pretty simple process. You’ll need:

  • 1 Phillips head screwdriver
  • 1 Replacement CR2032 Lithium battery

There are four screws on the back of the unit. With a small Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the four screws.

The back should separate easily. Inside is a circuit board. At the bottom of the circuit board is a battery and battery holder.

Remove the battery from the holder by pinching the part sticking out and pulling. It should slide out with minimal resistance.

Insert the new battery with the writing/+ side out.

Turn the switch on and hold the circuit board vertical to make sure the light turns on. If it does not, make sure the battery is not in upside down. Putting the battery in upside down is bad for the battery, though it will not damage the electronics.

When you have verified that the battery has been installed properly, put the circuit board back in the enclosure, put the back in place; it should snap into the groove.

Insert the four screws. Do NOT overtighten. When you meet resistance, stop tightening. Overtightening will strip the plastic, and the screw will lose its ability to hold the parts together.
